A two-day special same sex wedding fair has just been announced and it is to be held at the Phoenicia Hotel on the Mediterranean island of Malta later this year.

Hosting Malta’s first civil unions fair on the 10th and 11th of October at the iconic hotel in its capital Valletta.

The fair will offer the LGBT market a whole host of suppliers, products and services required to make a couple’s day very special.

The hotel can offer an ideal location for a ceremony located as it is adjacent to the huge bastion walls of the city with its pretty and private gardens or perhaps to a location overlooking Grand Harbour itself.

The hotel has its own wedding planner Chrystelle Doublesin who has 12 years experience in the weddings industry and is keen to host civil unions at the Phoenicia Hotel. This is following the change in the Maltese law in April last year.

Chrystelle said, “The Civil Unions Act officially became law in Malta last April, allowing same-sex couples to marry and adopt children, but this will be the first wedding fair where gay couples planning to marry are fully catered for.

Packages for such ceremonies start from around £800 (€1,130) for a small but stylish event for 10 guests or for a much more elaborate affair £3,760 (€5,300) a full service package for up to 30 guests. (Please note currency values do change!)

Same sex wedding now allowed in Malta.

For that fee you get, three-course dinner, half bottle of wine per guest, professional photographer, DJ, button holes, menu cards, bouquets, room hire and the personal wedding planner all included. This includes organisation before and during the special day, also preparation of all the required documentation plus registry fees and transport.

Plus dressing the seating, providing fresh flowers for table decorations, items for instance like a mandolin player or pianist. What wedding would not go ahead without a glass of bubbly each and canapés to start to celebrate the ceremony with.

The hotel has for decades been a top choice as a wedding venue with much of Maltese society holding many key celebration events there.

Malta boasts 300 days of sunshine a year so the chances are it could be a perfect choice for that special day!
