Z HOTEL GETS A STRAIGHT ‘A’

Z HOTEL GETS A STRAIGHT ‘A’

This I have to say was a find by a travel colleague, the Z Hotel in Liverpool.

However staying there was an A plus!

The compact but ultra modern contemporary styling of the room has all you could need in what I guess is the budget end of the market. Personally I found it a breath of fresh air.

Cheese and wine

Wine and cheese gatherings most every evening for free in the Z Hotel.

Clean lines of the darker fitted furniture and lighter wooden style panelling and its rectangular frosted glass surround of the wet room and toilet, still left an open feel to the room. With quality bedding, pillows and mattress plus large lush bath towels it was punching well above its perceived ‘budget’ weight.

One of my hates in a room are those semi-attached coat hangers that are a pain to take in and out, but not here a modern take on a multi layer uni-pole clothing stand in chrome where you can easily pop your coats, shirts or dresses onto with ease. With those all-important simple coat hangers!

Large screen TV, a various selection of programmes with an HD box, good quality kettle and cups for tea and coffee.

However one really nice touch was the complimentary wine and cheese in the reception from 5pm to 8pm. Where did that idea come from? But it worked so well!

Located just off the main shopping area of Liverpool, near to the famous Cavern Club, City Hall and a short walk to the docks where the riverside development has many art galleries, museums and harbour front restaurants to visit.

Unipole wardrobe stand

This is your wardrobe at the Z Hotel but it works, note coat hangers!

All in all this tip off from a fellow travel writer as a great place to stay in Liverpool was perfect the only negative for me was the lack of an in-room safe for my traveling companions of a laptop and camera! However the iconic Liver Building was the focus of my view from the 7th floor room.

Add in friendly helpful staff at the Z Hotel, this may be at the budget end but compared to the price I paid in London the night before. It may be low in price but it’s the tops in all other areas.
