HILLSIDE HOUSE LYNMOUTH NORTH DEVON
Hillside House is a delightful tradition British styled bed and breakfast guest house. The accommodation set right in the middle of the fishing village of Lynmouth, North Devon.
It is run by a lovely couple that really care for their guests and send them off every morning with a great “full English” style-cooked breakfast.

With views over the East Lyn river for most of the guests. Their home has a real charm and a cottage feel in the rooms. Some rooms have attached baths or showers.
The South West Coastal path runs very close and it is very popular with walkers. Its also popular with dog owners, so well behaved dogs are made welcome too.
Well behaved dogs are welcome to stay.
It’s right on the boundary of Exmoor National Park, which again puts Hillside House in a great location for that wildlife tourist attraction. Nearby a delightful walk along the East Lyn river to Watersmeet. Or perhaps to ride on the water-powered cliff railway to Lynton and then a chance to visit the Valley of Rocks after riding to the top on the fenicular.

Poet Shelley was friends with Wordsworth, Coleridge and Southey they all stayed in the area around Exmoor. Shelley honeymooned with his wife Harriet in Lynmouth in 1812 after he married her the year before when she was aged 16. Both were inspired by the area and the beauty and serenity that they found can still be found today in this pretty well unspoilt and magical corner of England.
He wrote: “saw before and beneath them a fairy scene – Little Lynmouth, then some thirty cottages, rose-clad and myrtle-clad, nestling at the foot of the hills. It was enough.”
