The three routes will be to Dublin, Malaga and Stansted which will provide the county residents with a link to most of Ryanair’s extensive network.

Plus, potentially to increase inbound visitors numbers to the county too.
Passengers arriving into London Stansted could hop onto a short flight to the West Country via Newquay rather than face a 6 hour drive or cross country train journey to get there.
Or can be linked as well directly from places like Malaga and Dublin. Which means that with good load factors each way it could be good for business with plenty of passengers flowing both in and out of Newquay.

Malaga residents could be heading to Cornwall?
Spain is already popular with West Country clients and Malaga will add to that choices of Southern Spain destinations.
Ryanair CEO Hopes To Boost Inbound Cornish Tourism
Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson was quick to point out that with the right promotion and marketing there could be no reason why the Spanish could not also head in the reverse direction to Cornwall too.
Cornwall is known internationally and a direct route into the county from an area of Spain where 11 million people live does provide a great opportunity for tourism in general.

The same could be said of attracting visitors from around Dublin and Southern Ireland too.
Although, the population is around half of that within the Andalucia area of Spain, yet still has growth potential with weekend type visitors homing in on Newquay.
Out bound passengers from the Newquay Airport will have dozens and dozens of destination choices if they choose to fly direct to Stansted.
Ryanair operate flights to over 80 destinations in 40 countries through this airport. Therefore it opens up countless choices.

Carrying around 8 more passengers each time it helps to bring down costs.

More passengers means less seat pitch. The figure I have seen says on average 28.5”. However, it depends where on the aircraft you sit. As some do have much more than that.

In the new planes, rows 17 and 18 are window escape seats, allowing 35” pitch. Row 28 has extra, as do seats 29a and 29f all benefitting from additional legroom. And of course they often cost extra too!

These new routes may not be the last as Eddie Wilson said: “Ryanair have an excellent relationship with the airport. We are hungry to grow connections and capacity and we are happy with the two routes we have had here already. There are good short connections between both Dublin and Malaga. Plus the inbound Stansted route will make it more convenient for people to get into Cornwall from the London area and the city. Or from any of our other inbound routes.
