Some of the art can cost as much as a top sports car too!

Sculpture At Beaulieu Now In Its Second Year

This is the second year that Sculpture at Beaulieu in the New Forest has been held. Back in 2019 was the first such event and Covid stopped it happening last year.

Following on from the success of the 2019 event it has been brought back bigger and better.

Excellent works to be found inside the palace itself at Beaulieu. This on by Anna Gillespie.

A unique collection of works by over 50 renowned sculptors, including Dawn Rowland, Frederic Chevarin, Helen Sinclair, Neil Wilkin, Paul Vanstone, Simon Gudgeon and Shaun Gagg.

The various works have been carefully selected to take full advantage of their unique backdrop around the ground

Perfect backdrop for this work.

For instance, the atmospheric ruins of Beaulieu Abbey, the serene beauty of the Victorian Flower Garden or distributed around the wild meadow areas.  And even in the interior of Victorian Gothic Palace House itself.

Works ranging from figurative to abstract, and covering a diverse range of mediums, the exhibition provides something to suit all tastes.

Glass, Stone Or Scrap Metal

Artists have uses delicate glass to giant items of scrap steel.

With the items placed along an extended trail its perfectly socially-distanced for a  Covid-secure experience for visitors strolling from piece to piece.

For those with deep pockets to buy into the art market well you could spend anything up to £100,000.

However, you can only take it home after the exhibition has finished at the end of August.

This was my favorite at Beaulieu.

However, for the more-thrifty, if a particular sculpture captures your heart then they do start from just £85.

Although, on my walk around everything I liked seemed to cost in the multiple thousands.  And they were not the larger ones!

A wonderful giant natural form and kinetic work in the gardens at Beaulieu.

Purchasing an inclusive pre-booked ticket means that you can access all of Beaulieu. The Motor Museum itself, the gardens and grounds, the Palace, the Secret Army Exhibition and many other smaller exhibitions too.
