PENTHOUSE HOLIDAY HOME WITH HARBOUR VIEWS !

Admiral’s View penthouse holiday home that any high-ranking Naval Officer would love to have for themselves. Well even better its available now for anyone to rent plus it caters for up to eight guests.
This harbour side holiday apartment has probably the best views of one of the UK’s most special leisure and commercial harbours in the country.
The magnificent sights of the sailing and sporting areas of Portland Harbour in Dorset are afforded from its third floor penthouse suite with three double bedrooms, extensive balconies plus it’s extra special self contained one bed roomed annex.
On the doorstep of the acclaimed World Heritage Jurassic Coast this apartment for up to 8 people provides a perfect getaway with wonderful views over the harbour that only a few years ago was the venue for the London 2012 Olympic sailing events.
This haven for all sorts of water sports is why many are attracted to this area of the UK. windsurfing, kite surfing, diving, fishing, spearfishing and the base of award winning Team GB Sailing makes Portland such a perfect place to stay.
Here you are at the home of Portland stone, which in effect is the stone that built much of London. That stone that built St Paul’s cathedral Buckingham Palace and many more came from the quarries that are just a short walk away from this hide-a-way holiday home.
Walking the cliffs of Portland is like time travelling, as dinosaurs were once here and those cliffs today also provide yet more stunning views of the Jurassic coast whether you are looking East or West.
Half a mile away is another geological feature that has its mysterious side and that is Chesil Beach. The 18mile long pebble beach with parts of it a nature reserve, should have the largest pebbles on its western end but in fact its the reverse, the large pebbles are at Portland and the small pebbles are 18 miles away to the west at West Bay!
Fighting For The Best Room!
The recently renovated apartment is on top of a former Royal Naval bake-house building but no expense has been spared as the owner who has cooked up a very high standard of accommodation for his guests in this penthouse holiday home.
Three double bedrooms in the main part of the apartment with a quirky self-contained ‘Crows Nest’ annex which I have the feeling many guests will fight over in order to stay in it for their duration!
There is a shared bathroom in the main apartment with one bedroom having its own ensuite as well as the ‘Crows Nest’ having its own too.
The expansive lounge with plush neutral coloured seating and contemporary glass dining table at one end has views to the harbour outside.
It also overlooks two huge Mulberry Harbour components. These were left after World War II as they would have formed part of one of the ‘D Day’ floating harbours on the French coast but they were not required after the allies captured more ports after the initial invasion.
The large kitchen with units on two sides and complete with built-in washing machine, dishwasher and cooker with also a large fridge freezer to one side. As well as the more formal dining area in the lounge the kitchen is large enough and has a round dining table and chairs at its centre for more informal gatherings.
The apartment has a really huge amount of private outdoor space, great for alfresco meals or sunbathing or perhaps just to use as an excellent raised viewing area for the extensive views of the harbour.
It’s high season July/August pricing is £1,378 per week with a low season price November/December/ January/February at around £663 which I think for eight people is an amazing price and great value at any time of year!
Ideal Base For Touring
With a huge sheltered modern marina nearby suitable for mooring really large motor cruisers and yachts if you have one this could serve as a crew stop.
Many training courses are organised by The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy nearby, which is where the UK Olympic Squad sailors develop their skills with many national and international regattas being based there plus that is just a very short walk away from Admiral’s View.
However if just watching the comings and goings of the sailors and their races are how you like relax then this is for you but then again just chilling or reading will be rewarding and restful there too. Then maybe try some locally caught fish or shellfish in some great seafood restaurants in the area.
As a base for touring Dorset from, Admiral’s View is located centrally on the South coast ideal for exploring either East, West or North from.
This holiday apartment complex would be suitable for a larger family gathering or for a group of like-minded friends who would like some quality time together in surroundings with great quality.
This Portland penthouse perch is pretty well perfect!
