KEEPING MUM, DAD, THE KIDS ALL HAPPY !

KEEPING MUM, DAD, THE KIDS ALL HAPPY !

For that all important family holiday, we are all looking for the very best that our circumstances can offer. Keeping all members delighted, in my case, my wife, 8 year old son and teenage daughter.

It needs high criteria to suit all of them and the search for this can be endless, ploughing my way for days searching the various travel companies on the Internet. The hope is to find the destination and accommodation with the X Factor and thankfully in the end, I did!

Fanabe Hotel Tenerife.

The 4 Star hotel, located in Costa Adeje the Hotel Fanabe in Tenerife with around 400 rooms and it’s just 500 meters from Fañabé Beach and El Duque Beach, shops, bars and restaurants.

For the more energetic there is a tennis court, multi-sports court (used primarily for football, basketball and the occasional foam party), mini-golf, Pétanque, table tennis, pool tables and gym. Located around 2.5km from Playa de las Americas resort and 3km from Costa Adeje golf course, those other options are not that far from the hotel.

There is a sauna, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath, cold pool, massages, wellness treatments that, along with massages treatments come with additional charges. All rooms have satellite TV and pay movies, safety deposit box, air conditioning (charge applies), hairdryer, full bathroom and balcony.

Reception is staffed 24 hours a day and there is free wifi.

The food is plentiful and offers an almost international menu which–and it goes without saying–includes the universal favourite…chips! There is a children’s food area but it is small and my children just used the main areas.

The busy restaurant is large with outside seating areas and the staff are excellent and plentiful and among them I must mention our family favourite, spiky-haired Francesco who seemed to leave every guest he served with a beaming smile on their faces.

FANABE FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY

The main large figure eight shaped swimming pool is heated during the winter season, which ends on 30th April and the hotel rule is that sunbeds cannot be reserved with towels in the morning, a good rule on all counts. The rooftop is for adults only and has 2 pools, (not heated), as well as a small naturist area.

Kids Club with staff at the Fanabe Hotel, Tenerife

The Animation Team led by Sissi, with Kevin, Aja, Tina, Tea, Zlatan and Kaja were an absolute joy for children and adults alike. Their professional, friendly and fun personalities were so outstanding that they deserve a special mention as they added a definite plus to the enjoyment for all age groups. They run a mini club for 4-12 year olds as well as games and entertainment throughout the day for all ages.

Every night there is a mini-disco for children followed by a stage show suitable for all ages.

The shows ranged from excellent to superb with artists such as The 3 Tenors, and the comedy magic of Johnny Circus and, as one Spanish guest remarked to me: “To have this high quality of performance in a hotel is unbelievable.”

Away from the hotel, Tenerife also has a number of attractions for the family, the two top ones being the absolute must of Loro Parque with its incredible shows and the adrenaline rush of Siam Park with its wave pool and death-defying water slides.

Definitely an unforgettable holiday, which we can’t wait to repeat! Booked through Thomson Holidays other tour operators such as Thomas Cook and Monarch also provide packages to there.
