BRAD PITT LOVES THIS HOTEL IN MALTA
The delightful walled city of Mdina in Malta is home to another delight. No other, than film star Brad Pitt’s favorite hotel in the country, the Xara Palace Hotel!
With stunning views high up from the fortified walls this boutique style hotel is perfect for getting away from the bustle of the many busy holiday areas that Malta offers its tourists.

This is certainly a discerning choice for the quiet and reflective ambience appreciating guests. Rather than the more noisy café, bar and club areas around some areas of the island’s coastline.
With the likes of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Sharon Stone, Orlando Bloom, Jennifer Anniston, Bruce Willis, Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall, Rupert Everett, Roger Moore many politicians and business leaders, this five star haven becomes a film star heaven too!

Like Mdina being called the silent city the hotel itself is silent about who else is staying there and quite frankly I was pleased. As I would have hated to have had Brad Pitt knowing that I was there too! (We go back a way, well to the launch of his film ‘Fury’ back in Dorset)
Although Mdina is located as far inland as its possible to be is certainly it is not bereft of tourists. It has to be one of the must see places on the island and quite rightly so.
However the ‘Silent City’ is just that, once the evenings draw on!

As when night time approaches and the visitors have departed this is when you should take the chance to walk out from the hotel and around Mdina’s cosy warm stoned built narrow streets. Exploring its fine medieval and baroque buildings that make up this unique location.
The quiet and timeless atmosphere is only broken by the chime of church bells or of the occasional horse drawn carriages that are still to be found in the city usually ferrying tourists around rather than the local residents.

This is still a living working albeit tiny city and flourishing here are convents and monasteries, catering for the religious needs of its parishioners and visitors.
Catering for the city’s guests is the hotel itself, with an excellent restaurant the de Mondion set high on the old bastions and on summer nights no better place to eat on the Island with stunning views over the villages and fields. And who knows, with Brad Pitt perhaps at the next table, dream on!
