Never in the 18 years that the award has been running has a winner been able to win it for a second time.

Voted number one yet again by guest reviews through Tripadvisor.

The 25 Boutique on England’s south coast in the Devon resort town of Torquay. Where the owners Julian and Andy Banner-Price have been left speechless for a second time after hearing that they are the World’s best Bed and Breakfast again!

World’s best Bed and Breakfast is to be found on a busy main road without any views of the sea either!

However, it boasts six luxury quirky bedrooms all equipped with state-of-the-art voice control technology.

Guests also get to enjoy home-baked goodies, bathroom TVs and even mood lighting in the rooms.

Andy and Julian Banner-Price, owners of The 25 Boutique, said on the day the awards were published; “All in all we are even more shocked than we were when we won it last year! Because, of the award last year people would have had high expectations when they stayed with us. So, we are very pleased that our standards are still judged to be of the highest quality”.

When asked what is it that they are doing that makes the difference Julian said; “We love creating special and memorable experiences for our guests and receiving their excellent reviews makes all our hard work truly rewarding.”

From the guest’s point of view Andy said, “Personal touches are important, remembering guest preferences that have stayed with us before.  Knowing that they take sugar or what pillows they like and certainly cleanliness is the key too”.

Sharing the Roles Running The Best Bed And Breakfast In The World

Dividing the roles between them Andy cooking up tasty treats for the guests including his famous chocolate brownies.  Along with the all-important breakfasts.

He has also done the precision tiling required in the bathrooms.  With Julian the technical wizard sorting out many of the high-tech gadgets to be found in all of the rooms. These include mood lighting built into the showers.

Julian’s role is generally more front of house attending to guest arrivals and departures and other general requests from their visitors.

Julian and Andy have good track record within the hospitality industry.  Successfully running a hotel in North Wales before moving to South Devon several years ago. They have been together for 21 years.

Tripadvisor spokesperson said, “This has been an incredibly tough year for the UK’s hospitality industry.  Now is the right time to celebrate those businesses that have delivered consistently outstanding service and quality over the last year.

With Covid19 shutting down the industry this year the awards in the past were normally made much earlier in the season.

Regarding how the award is judged.  It is calculated by an algorithm that analyses the millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year from Tripadvisor travellers worldwide.

Looking further forward an into next year “We, like many similar places have had Coronavirus lock down cancellations. However, many have postponed their stays until next year and so 2021 is looking very good indeed!”

Going For The Hat Trick ?

When asked are they going for the hat-trick?

Andy said “We will certainly keep doing what we have been doing these last two years. But the rest is in the hands of the Gods!”
