Sri Lanka Is Open For Tourists News Statement

After months of uncertainty in Sri Lanka due to the political situation the country’s Chairman of Tourism Promotional Bureau has declared in a video interview that Sri Lanka is open for tourists.

In a joint statement during a press conference at World Travel Market in London.  Mr Chalaka D. Gajabahu and the  Minister of Tourism, Hon Harin Fernado and Her Excellency Ms Saroja Sirisena, The High Commissioner to the UK wanted to tell the world that Sri Lanka is very much open for tourism again.

They refute claims that there are food or fuel shortages and that in general things are getting back to normal in the country.

What certainly will help Sri Lanka they say is the tourist dollar spend. As tourism brings in around a large chunk of its nation’s income. Therefore, getting tourists back spending in the country will help all of its people and boost the currency that has taken a massive dive in value.
