Rail links both above and below ground will be improved making it very accessible for public transport.

There will now follow a range of planning consultations. The airport will be in position to apply for at Development Consent Order (DCO).  Their application by law has to go to the Secretary of State as it’s such a large development. Being that some extra powers to allow compulsory purchase for land acquisition around the current airport boundaries will be needed.

After further examination the Secretary of State for Transport will receive a report.  Following on from those findings, he or she will have to decide to approve or not grant a DCO for it.
