Black Pearl Super Yacht Calls In To Dorset
Not usually my thing but thought this rather swish super yacht would be of interest to my reader’s.

The Black Pearl super yacht owned by a Russian multi-millionaire, who is well on the way to billionaire status. It was filmed and photographed at anchor in Weymouth Bay, Dorset along the Jurassic Coast.
Costing around £200m the 106metre long yacht is hard to miss when in port, so hence my short item about it.
The owner is Oleg Burlakov, who was co-founder of the oil and gas company, Burneftegaz. The company worked in the Russian oil and gas fields and is thought to have its own oil reserves of more than 250 million tons. He sold that a few years ago. Just last year in Moscow the paper there reported that a gunman shouted and fired at his car he survived.

Built by Oceanco in 2016 the 348ft super yacht is one of the world’s largest sailing yachts.

A steel hull, with lightweight aluminium superstructure gives her a very sleek appearance.

Several companies were involved in its construction and the collaboration between Oceanco, Nuvolari-Lenard and naval architects Dykstra Naval Architects brought about this unique ship.
Her exterior styling is the work of Nuvolari-Lenard with interiors entirely designed by Valentina Zannier. It was constructed in a boat yard in, The Netherlands.

Several other experts were drafted in to work on the project and the ship was delivered in 2018. Design features like the solar sails that can be used to generate electricity, she is described by some sailing experts, as a sail-assisted motor yacht which some would disagree. The masts are over 200 feet high!
There is accommodation for around 12 passengers in six cabins and thought to need around 18 crew to run her.
The Black Pearl super yacht seems to makes other yachts seem rather small!
It can reach sailing speeds of around 30 knots in ideal conditions and if the wind is not playing ball then there is a back-up diesel although with its many high-tech systems and with its regenerating ability then that may not be needed at all!
Although there are many photographs of her exterior, there are none of the interior so far!
Whilst in Weymouth Bay stores were taken onboard, which included a raid to a butcher’s shop in Prince Charles village of Poundbury. Where the ‘Brace of Butchers’ were ready to supply Dorset lamb, bacon, free range chicken award winning sausages plus water cress too!
