Gambia Bird’s vision is to change the aviation market in West Africa by providing a reliable and scheduled service across all major cities in the region focusing on air travel for business people, tourists, and domestic traffic.
Gambia Bird is supported by the Germania Group, a German airline with 26 years’ experience in the aviation industry throughout Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
Thomas Wazinski, Chief Executive Officer of Gambia Bird Airlines Ltd said “Flights from London-Gatwick to Banjul in The Gambia and to Freetown in Sierra Leone herald the start of our airline and open a gateway to West Africa that brings reliable and exceptional air travel within the reach of every customer. Everyone has a stake in the future of Gambia Bird; the business people who need a punctual scheduled service, the tourists from Europe and other African countries who enjoy the special West African hospitality, the friends and families working in Europe who want to visit home. Over the next few weeks we will be ramping up our operations across the region from our hub in Banjul and the full network will go live towards the end of November 2012.”
Gambia Bird’s schedule commenced on Monday 22nd October, with Premium and Economy Class flights to Dakar. The scheduled destinations of Conakry, Freetown, Monrovia, Accra, London-Gatwick and Barcelona follow throughout the week. Operations to Lagos will start shortly after.
